Philosophy of Education

My philosophy for my classroom is to create an inviting and warm community where students can feel comfortable and collaborate to learn. The values within our classroom will be treated with respect to the beliefs, background and culture that the students bring to the classroom.  The classroom environment will be structured maintaining a student-centered approach with the teacher acting as the ultimate role model and guide to help the students achieve their potential (Levin & Nolan). The purpose of education is to provide students with knowledge and prepare them as the future citizens of the world. The relationships between the teacher and the students are crucial to their success. I will take into account that all students learn differently and learning cannot be achieved without basic physiological needs.  Our classroom will be a supportive community and will help children achieve their basic needs, so learning can be accomplished (Levin & Nolan). The students will be engaged through kinesthetic activities and learning to enhance their understanding. I believe every student can enjoy learning and should be valued within their classroom. By having an inclusive classroom, students will have unlimited opportunities to be involved and develop skills to manage their own behavior.
